I like to meditate outside whenever I can. I live just 5 miles from the downtown area of a major city, but in my suburb there are pockets of woods and marshland that have become my special places.
Yesterday I sat down in the woods with my back against a tree and felt myself enveloped by the caring, loving energies of the forest. My mind began to clear and insights began to flow.
About 20 minutes later I sensed I was not alone. I looked over my shoulder and saw two coywolves (wolf coyote hybrids) playing with one another. They were so close I could almost touch them, and they were completely unaware of my presence.
Leaves and twigs rustled loudly beneath me as I stood up. The coywolves were startled and ran off.
In this sacred spot of mine I am so often shown the animals I need to see. Shamanism has helped me understand how the Animal Kingdom can guide us in our spiritual development.
In my ten years living in this area, I have heard of coywolves but have never seen them. They aren’t on any traditional list of animal totems.
Coywolves are a relatively new species. They are less aggressive than wolves and coyotes and have extremely cooperative social groups. They have adapted to thriving in rural areas and metro areas. They are the perfect hybrid for our day and age.
As we move through the ascension process we become hybrid humans. Our personalities become infused with our Higher Minds and we begin to live, physically, like the divine energy we really are.
We cannot go through this process without a huge ripple effect. As we make the energetic shifts, layer after layer, these changes reverberate through our thoughts and emotions, behavior and physical bodies. There are many stories from our collective past about beings who ascended and left their physical bodies – the energy was too high for the physical body to hold. In these times, people go through major expansions in consciousness, and they stay in their physical bodies.
Who will we become when the shift in consciousness in complete? Right now it remains a beautiful mystery. But we cannot become hybrid humans without having a huge, positive effect on humanity.

Hi There, I really enjoyed this post. I am currently seeking training from a shaman. Can you offer any advice on this? Do you offer classes?

Hi Jeanie, thanks so much for connecting! I’m glad you liked the post. I highly recommend Greg Drambour out of Sedona for learning about shamanism. You can find him at gregorydrambour.com. I learned from him in the vortexes in Sedona and also took his on-line shamanism course and practiced near my home. Good luck on your journey! Feel free to stay in touch and let me know how you do!

Thank you very much got the coywolf totem insight. Recently my husband and I were visited by two coywolves and very moved by their presence. I am curious about transferring this energy as we are musicians and dancers….perhaps this affirmation is all that is necessary to allow us to stay hopeful on our path…. thank you again, and much continued joy in your journey!

I loved reading your insight about the coywolf sighting as affirmative in your journey! I saw one in my backyard for the first time ever last month and was deeply moved. Coywolf seems to remind me that I can live the life I want to, even in the world the way it is today….
Sending you good wishes on your journey. Thanks for connecting!

Enjoyed your insight into the coywolf totem meaning. I have always been drawn to the coyote more so than the wolf (but I do love the wolf!). When I was in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, I found myself standing just a few feet from a coywolf near a treeline. We shared a moment.. and then like a number one fan, I tell the coywolf to stay while I go get my camera. Suffice it to say.. he did not.

Oh my goodness Lina, I know exactly what you mean! Glad you got to share a moment with these precious creatures. Thanks for reading and sharing.

I recently had an experience with what I believe was a coywolf. I have a love and compassion for nature and wildlife. I had been hiking with my husband, his brother& my stepson , they were also trout fishing. They lost a rod so I told them I would wait while they went looking for it. I had been sitting on a log that a beaver cut down. I was enjoying the peaceful sounds of the woods. I then heard noise behind me, I slowly turned around and seen movement in the break of the trees. When I turned back around this large wolf like dog was running (trotting) towards me, it was panting. We made eye contact, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing and how very close it was. I couldn’t think and went into flight mode, and ran ( I know you’re not supposed too but It happens so fast and scared me) ran so fast yelling loudly for my husband. I must of scared it off. I can’t stop thinking about it, it was such an awesome experience. I truly felt something in that moment, like someone was talking to me or it was a message. I can’t figure it out. I regret running, and wish I would’ve stayed put. It was a one of a kind experience. It was special.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful experience. It sounds to me that coywolf has a message for you, an insight to share. I suggest an animal totem session if you don’t yet have clarity about the message!
