If you’ve been reading my blog for some time you know that it took me years of trial and error to heal the energy pressure in my head. A combination of Taoist exercises, grounding, and patience helped me to heal this affliction. I am sharing the methods I used in the hopes that anyone experiencing this strange phenomenon that is stuck energy will have faster relief than I did.
Today I would like to share how I used EMDR to heal the stuck energy pressure in my head. EMDR stands for eye movement desensitization and reprocessing. It is a tool used by therapists, typically to treat PTSD.
I did not come across EMDR via a therapist. I learned about it from Mantak Chia. Mantak Chia is a Taoist master who is largely responsible for sharing Taoist energy exercises with the Western world. Through his work, I was able to understand where my energy imbalances occurred and how to fix them. Once I opened up the center meridian along the front of my body, a lot of the energy pressure subsided.
EMDR is one of the tools I used to clear the rest of the energy pressure in my head. Mantak Chia felt intuitively that EMDR is capable of energetic recycling – turning negative energy into positive. He worked with an EMDR therapist named Doug Hilton to develop a therapy that combines Chi Kung, Taoism and EMDR. The method is described in the book EMDR and the Universal Healing Tao. I highly recommend this book.
However when I experienced energy pressure in the head I could not bring myself to follow the rather long method discussed in the book. I needed something quick and simple that I could follow along with. That’s when I discovered that the personal development movement had applied the concept of bilateral eye movements to self-help. People are using the technique to heal negative self-image, anxious thoughts, etc.
I noticed that the energy pressure in my head was often accompanied by negative, fearful thinking. This is often the case for others who have resistant, stuck energy, that only partially responds to the energy exercises I recommend.
I came across a simple, ten-minute video on Youtube that allowed me to use EMDR at home. I love this because I was able to use it at the moment when my energy pressure was active (mine was the sort that ebbed and flowed). Often I immediately felt energy start to swirl and move. Within a few minutes I could feel relief.
I simply followed the ball of light with me eyes, back and forth, while focusing on the stuck energy in my head.
Afterwards, I made sure to let my brain rest and recover. I used this a couple of times a week along with the grounding and Qi Gong exercises until the energy pressure finally cleared up.
Here is the video that I used. It includes special tones for helping to relax. There are many videos that show one how to administer EMDR at home if this one does not resonate with you.
Finally, I need to call attention to the fact that I’m not a medical doctor or therapist , just a woman who used EMDR for self-healing. If this resonates, you may want to explore on your own.
Until next time, I’m sending many wishes for healing and well-being.
