How can I be a shaman? Can you teach me about shamanic healing? These are questions I get from time to time. You can read more in my previous post, How To Be A Shaman (Part 1).
Today I want to write about pure intentions. This is important because spirituality has become a fad. Higher wisdom teachings used to be shared only with advanced students. Now they are out in the open for anyone to access. It’s easy for people to open their upper chakras before the lower chakras are clear and balanced. This can create issues and discomfort (like energy head pressure, which I have written about extensively).
Shamanic healing is inherently grounding and great for healing the lower chakras. After my messy, intense spiritual awakening I could not tolerate subtle energy healings from energy workers, Reiki masters, etc. But purification via shamanic work was perfect for me.
My friend practices shamanic healing. His journey began with vivid dreams where he was urged to learn about it. He was quite literally called into shamanism. He was always a healer in one way or another. In his early 20s, he counseled people. He helped refugees in his spare time. One day he expressed doubt about his ability to become a shamanic practitioner. One of the refugees he worked with said, “You are already a shaman. Look at all the people whose lives you transform.”
After my period of learning from Sedona Shaman, my focus shifted to other healing modalities. I assumed I had learned all that my Soul wanted me to know about shamanism. Then the visions began. A drum beating, a rhythm deeply etched into my consciousness. I knew that soon a new teacher would appear. When we met, I felt the rightness of learning from him in my heart.
Here are some signs you are ready to study the shamanic path:
- You are being called through visions or dreams
- Increased synchronicities, such as seeing the same animals over and over, or information about shamanism coming into your life
- You have healed a good portion of your own life and want to share healing with others
- You are already healing or helping others in some way. Perhaps you are the go-to person in your circle for advice. Or the one that always finds the light in difficult situations. You may have been told by people that they just feel better in your presence.
